Dr. James Doyle, O.D.

Optometrist

Dr. James Doyle was born and raised in Boston. After graduating from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, he worked for several technology companies across Massachusetts, California, New York, and Maryland.

He later returned to pursue his passion for eye care, earning his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry (NECO). During his clinical training, Dr. Doyle completed rotations at Dimock Community Health Center, a VA clinic near Worcester, the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, and NECO’s Specialty Clinic.

Following graduation, Dr. Doyle completed a one-year residency in Cornea and Contact Lens at Corneal Consultants, the Boston Foundation for Sight under Dr. Perry Rosenthal, and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. He went on to work in several optometry practices throughout the Greater Boston area.

In 2003, Dr. Doyle opened and operated a solo bilingual (English and Spanish) optometry practice in Methuen, MA. He is excited to bring his experience and enthusiasm for patient care to Lickteig Family Eyecare. Dr. Doyle values building strong connections with his patients and appreciates the “art” of optometry.

Outside of the office, Dr. Doyle enjoys spending time with his wife and their two adult sons. When he has the chance, you’ll also find him on the ice working to refine his skating skills.
